Get ready to unleash your creativity in a Painted Rock Photo/Card Holder Workshop on Tuesday, April 30 from 7-9 p.m. This is a hands-on workshop where you will design and paint two rocks with your own unique flair. As the paint dries, you’ll have a chance to make personalized cards to put in the finished holders. Once your rocks are dry art instructor Cherie Peters will teach you how to wrap them with wire, and then add beads of your choice to make stunning displays for your cards. Perfect gifts for coworkers, teachers, neighbors, grandparents and parents. Or keep them to display photos in your home.
By the end of the session, you will leave with two rock card holders. The fee for this workshop is $35, but thanks to the City of Hollister Parks and Recreation Department, Hollister residents only pay $17.50. The class offers a relaxing and enjoyable experience for all. All supplies are included in the fee. Wire cutter or jewelry pliers are optional.
About the Instructor: Cherie Peters, a seasoned artist and former K-12 Art Educator, has transitioned from the classroom to the tranquil landscapes of the Lake of the Ozarks and beyond. In retirement, she teaches Expressive Arts virtually from her motorhome and shares her love for nature through art classes in the Midwest to the Adirondack mountains of New York. Inspired by the enchanting allure of the Gulf Coast, Cherie gathers treasures like oyster shells and driftwood to create mixed-media artworks infused with the essence of coastal beauty. Currently volunteering at the Dewey Short Visitor Center at Table Rock Lake, she continues to draw inspiration from nature's bounty. Cherie invites viewers to join her on a journey of exploration and imagination through her art.
